Why We're Here

An article published on the BBC News website yesterday reported on shocking statistics outlined in a report produced by Dyslexia Action called "Dyslexia Still Matters".

For example, 9 out of 10 parents who took part in the survey think that teachers lack awareness of dyslexia.

It is statistics such as these that underline why Dig-iT was set up in the first place.

Dyslexia Action have also started an online petition accompanying the report (which we will be adding to our list of campaigns). Please sign it.

In The Guardian on Saturday 23rd June was a great article on an inspiring paralympian athlete, Ben Rushgrove, who is also dyslexic. If you read the article you'll be as impressed as we were and as you will learn, complex needs can be met head on with the right support.

We've been contacted by Liz Dunoon (pictured) who asked if she could put our contact details on her website - Helping Children With Dyslexia - as parents all around Australia are searching for dyslexia support groups!  Unfortunately Liz had the wrong Tamworth (we're in England!), but her organisation and website are great!

We recommend becoming a member (free) to access all sort of useful information and resources! Brilliant work Liz!
