The British Dyslexia Association have launched the 'Initial Teacher Training Campaign' which seeks to address the gap in teacher training and dyslexia awareness & knowledge in the general teaching profession. We're backing the campaign and have added it to our new 'Campaigns' page. The campaign includes an e-petition which closes on 31st October 2012. Please join us in supporting the BDA's campaign.
In response to an article in the Times Educational Supplement (TES) on Dyslexia Awareness Week published on 28th October 2011, Dig-iT co-founder Julie wrote a letter to TES to gently point out to them that dyslexia affects girls (and therefore women) as well as boys.
In the original printed article, there were several accompanying photos, none of whom were women.
TES were clearly impressed and printed Julie's letter in this week's edition. Go Julie!
