Getting An Assessment

  • Adults
  • Students
  • Children (16 & under)
Formal diagnostic assessments for adults and children can be expensive, though schools, colleges and universities (and some employers) do provide them if needed.

These pages should help you start the process of seeing if you or your child, have any dyslexic traits and may be in need of a full assessment. Note that adults and children have different assessments.

A diagnosis of dyslexia by a registered Psychologist or fully accredited Specialist Teacher has legal standing.  You and / or your child will be protected by law from discrimination as well as being entitled to 'reasonable' adjustments in educational settings and in the workplace (as per the Equality Act 2010).
Dig-iT hopes in the near future to compile a list of local accredited professionals whom you can contact.

In the meantime, please follow the links to further information and guidance about assessments, which you may find useful.
