Our second 'Positively Different!' event was a great success. A big 'thank you' to everyone who took part and who came along to support us. We now hope to organise 'Positively Different!' in various forms every year as part of Dyslexia Awareness week!
This year's event was staged in the Old Town Hall, Market Street, Tamworth on Saturday 12th October, 2013 from 9:30am to 4pm and attended by Tamworth's Mayor John Garner. At the private viewing for all contributors the day before, we were pleased to welcome Fazeley's Mayor Simon Clements and Cllr Tina Clements. As well as paintings, photography, graphic design, animation and fashion design produced by adults who have dyslexia, the exhibition also included models & project works made by young people in school. We were very privileged to have DJ and Dig-iT volunteer Hannah Smart from local radio station TCRfm broadcast live from the event! Alongside the exhibition, we held some fun activities:
Keep an eye out for some pictures and other media from the event which we will be posting here. |
