We noticed some odd unwanted websites popping up while reading our pages and so contacted Weebly support (the people who we use to provide our website).
They got back to us and advised us to remove our recently added website statistics tracker. At the end of November, we added this so that we could see how many visitors we get, where they come from and how many things they read (you may have noticed a little green 'Webstats' picture under the Weebly button at the foot of our webpages).
Anyway, while we were getting some interesting information from this, the downside was that this also allowed unwanted advert-type pop-up websites to appear. So we have now removed the webstats and will simply use Weebly's own figures instead (though these aren't very detailed).
For those of you that are interested, during the two months that we were using webstats, we found that while most of our visitors come from the UK as you'd expect (89.1% actually) we also got visitors from as far afield as Canada (4.6%) and USA (3.1%), New Zealand (0.7%), Turkey (0.4%), Uruguay, Vietnam and Saudi Arabia (all at 0.2%). The remaining 1.5% of visitors came from europe.
So, clearly - as we all know - dyslexia has no borders and can affect anybody.
