Dig-iT is pleased to announce that we're soon to launch an adult dyslexia support group in Tamworth! The adult group will start in Autumn 2014 (venue and start date to be confirmed soon). The new adult dyslexia support group will be free to attend and is an extra service to our regular drop-in sessions. It will offer information on dyslexia traits, a dyslexia screening service, advice and workshops on coping strategies (including assistive technologies) plus information on support in the workplace and in education. The group will also offer an opportunity for dyslexic adults to meet and socialise with others in a supportive and welcoming environment. It will be run by volunteers who themselves are dyslexic and/or have experience of supporting dyslexic family members. To find out more, or to join our adult dyslexia group mail list, please email Julie at [email protected] or call on 0753 451 3338. We look forward to hearing from you! Special Needs Jungle is a really great website run by Tania Tirraoro who is a parent who has been through the "jungle of the statementing system" and so wants to share that knowledge with others. The website is well worth a visit - see here. Here's some great videos showing top tips on supporting your child with reading, handwriting, spelling, organisation and memory. See here. |
